Following what is described as the biggest Initial Public Offering (IPO) in history, Elon Musk's Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ:SPCX) is now a publicly traded company. An IPO is the process where a private company first sells its shares to the public. Analysts, as highlighted by Investopedia, predict Space Exploration Technologies could become a "major hyperscaler" and a leader in communications, cloud, and AI.
After its IPO on June 12, shares of Space Exploration Technologies opened at $150.00. The stock saw a massive surge, reaching an all-time high of $225.64 just days later. However, it has since experienced significant volatility, a common pattern for high-profile IPOs. The stock is now down roughly 22% from its peak, trading at $157.54.
On July 2, 2026, the analyst firm Daiwa initiated its coverage on Space Exploration Technologies. The firm set a price target of $175.00 for the stock. A price target is an analyst's projection of a stock's future price. At the time of the report, this target represented a potential upside, or increase, of 11.08% from the stock's price of $157.54.
Daiwa is not the only firm with a positive outlook. The average price target from three firms covering Space Exploration Technologies is $203.00. This suggests a potential upside of over 25% from current levels. Despite recent volatility that saw the stock drop 7.80% in a single day, the long-term view from Wall Street remains strong.
