Haleon (NYSE: HLN) Stock Analysis: Improving Profitability and Debt Refinancing

  • Haleon reported 2.6% organic revenue growth for the first half of 2026, with growth accelerating to 3.1% in the second quarter.
  • Adjusted operating profit increased 8.2% at constant exchange rates, supported by productivity improvements and gross-margin expansion.
  • RBC Capital raised its price target for Haleon’s London-listed shares from 370 pence to 390 pence while maintaining a Sector Perform rating.
  • Haleon launched a tender offer for approximately $2 billion of notes due in March 2027 as part of a broader debt-refinancing strategy.

Haleon (NYSE: HLN) is a global consumer-healthcare company that was separated from GSK plc (NYSE: GSK) in 2022. Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as Sensodyne, Advil, Centrum, Panadol, Theraflu, and Voltaren.

Haleon operates across oral health, vitamins and supplements, pain relief, respiratory health, digestive health, and therapeutic skincare. Its major competitors include Kenvue, Procter & Gamble, Reckitt, Bayer, and other consumer-healthcare companies.

On August 11, 2026, RBC Capital raised its price target for Haleon’s London-listed shares from 370 pence to 390 pence while maintaining a Sector Perform rating. This rating indicates that RBC expects the shares to perform broadly in line with comparable companies in the sector.

The sterling price target applies to Haleon’s ordinary shares listed on the London Stock Exchange under the same HLN ticker. Haleon’s American depositary receipts trade on the New York Stock Exchange in U.S. dollars, so the 390-pence target cannot be compared directly with the NYSE share price without accounting for the depositary-share ratio and exchange rate.

Analyst sentiment surrounding Haleon’s London-listed shares remains mixed. MarketBeat reports three Buy ratings, one Hold rating, and two Sell ratings, producing an overall Hold consensus. Its reported average target is approximately 396 to 399 pence, although consensus figures can change as individual analysts update their forecasts. Deutsche Bank maintains a Sell rating, while Jefferies and Berenberg remain more positive

Haleon’s recent financial performance showed improving quarterly momentum. Organic revenue increased 2.6% during the first half of 2026, with price contributing 2.1 percentage points and volume and product mix contributing 0.5 percentage points. Second-quarter organic revenue growth accelerated to 3.1%, evenly supported by price growth of 1.7% and volume and mix growth of 1.4%.

Adjusted operating profit increased 8.2% at constant exchange rates to £1.36 billion. Adjusted operating margin expanded to 24.3%, while adjusted diluted earnings per share increased 12% to 10.3 pence. Reported operating profit, however, declined 2.6% to £1.17 billion because of restructuring expenses.

The company generated £769 million in free cash flow during the first half and ended the period with net debt equal to 2.5 times adjusted EBITDA. Haleon also raised its interim dividend by 9% to 2.4 pence per share and had completed £457 million of its planned £500 million 2026 share-repurchase program.

Haleon is also proactively managing an upcoming debt maturity. Its subsidiary, Haleon US Capital LLC, launched a cash tender offer for any and all of its approximately $1.999 billion in outstanding 3.375% senior notes due in March 2027. The final amount repurchased will depend on how many bondholders tender their notes and how many Haleon accepts.

The tender offer is being conducted alongside a planned issuance of new bonds. Therefore, the transaction appears primarily designed to refinance the March 2027 maturity and optimize Haleon’s debt profile rather than automatically reduce total borrowings by $2 billion.

Overall, Haleon delivered modest first-half revenue growth but stronger profit expansion and cash generation. Its debt transaction should reduce near-term refinancing pressure, although investors should distinguish between refinancing existing obligations and permanently reducing total debt.
