Glaukos Corporation (NYSE: GKOS) Drives Ophthalmic Technology Growth with Strong Product Performance

  • Glaukos Corporation has delivered strong market performance despite a decline in the Medical–Instruments industry, supported by growth across its glaucoma and corneal-health businesses.
  • BTIG raised its price target for Glaukos, reflecting confidence in the company’s growth prospects, although a price target does not guarantee future returns.
  • Strong adoption of iDose TR and the commercial launch of Epioxa helped Glaukos raise its 2026 net-sales guidance.

Glaukos Corporation (NYSE: GKOS) is an ophthalmic pharmaceutical and medical technology company. It develops treatments for glaucoma, corneal disorders, and retinal diseases. While the Medical–Instruments industry declined by approximately 8.7% over the cited period, Glaukos shares delivered substantial gains.

On August 20, 2026, BTIG reportedly raised its price target for Glaukos to $202.00 from $193.00 while maintaining its positive rating on the stock. With the shares trading at $189.55 at the time of the update, the new target represented approximately 6.57% potential upside. Price targets reflect analysts’ expectations and should not be interpreted as guaranteed returns.

As of August 20, Glaukos shares had gained approximately 63.1% in 2026, compared with a 12.6% increase in the S&P 500. This performance was supported by the successful commercialization and expansion of key products, particularly iDose TR and Epioxa.

In the second quarter of 2026, U.S. glaucoma net sales increased 64% year over year to $118.5 million, supported by approximately $74 million in iDose TR revenue. Corneal Health net sales increased 48% to $30.4 million, including approximately $11 million from Epioxa during its first full quarter of commercial availability.

Following the strong results, Glaukos raised its 2026 net-sales guidance to between $680 million and $700 million, up from its previous range of $620 million to $635 million. The company reported total second-quarter net sales of $185.6 million, representing growth of 50% year over year.

Despite its revenue growth, Glaukos remains unprofitable. The company reported a second-quarter GAAP net loss of $18.4 million, or $0.31 per diluted share. Potential risks include reimbursement and physician-workflow challenges associated with newer products, commercialization expenses, and uncertainty surrounding the pace of product adoption.

Glaukos reported a second-quarter GAAP gross margin of approximately 82% and a non-GAAP gross margin of approximately 85%. Its full-year non-GAAP gross-margin guidance was approximately 84% to 86%.
