On August 13, 2026, analyst firm Citigroup upgraded its rating on Annexon (NASDAQ: ANNX) to Market Perform. Annexon is a biopharmaceutical company that develops immunotherapies for serious neuroinflammatory diseases. The stock was trading at $5.33 when the new rating was announced, with a market capitalization of approximately $873.28 million.

The improved outlook follows significant progress in Annexon's two main drug programs. Its treatment for Guillain-Barré syndrome, tanruprubart, is under review for marketing in Europe. Annexon also expects to submit a Biologics License Application (BLA) in the United States for the drug in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Annexon also expanded its Phase 3 ARCHER II trial for vonaprument, a treatment for geographic atrophy. As highlighted by GlobeNewswire, the clinical trial now includes a 24-month endpoint in addition to the existing 15-month one. This dual-endpoint strategy gives the trial two independent chances to prove the drug's effectiveness in preserving vision.

To support these efforts, Annexon secured a credit facility providing up to $200 million in non-dilutive capital. This type of funding provides cash without issuing new shares, which prevents reducing the ownership percentage of existing investors. The new capital extends the company's financial runway into 2028, ensuring it has funds for its operations.
