Analyst firm Roth Capital reiterates its Buy rating for Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER), announced when the stock price was $78.56. Uber Technologies is a global company known for its ride-hailing services and its food delivery platform, Uber Eats. It operates in a competitive market with a significant global presence.
Despite a 237% surge in the three years to October 2025, Uber's stock has since fallen 20%. This performance contrasts with the S&P 500 index, which grew 14% during the same period. This decline reflects investor concerns about long-term risks from autonomous driving technology to its business model.
A key concern is the rise of autonomous vehicles (AVs) from competitors like Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL)'s Waymo and Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA). However, Uber is actively investing in this area by committing $10 billion to AV partnerships. The company also aims to integrate 120,000 AVs into its network, showing a proactive approach to future technology.
The company demonstrates a resilient core business, with gross bookings and monthly active users reaching new highs. As highlighted by Seeking Alpha, Uber's valuation is just over 20 times forward earnings. This metric compares its share price to expected future profits, suggesting that fears of disruption may be overstated.
Uber is also expanding globally through its takeover offer for Delivery Hero (XTRA: DHER). It offers EUR 41.50 in cash per share, a premium of about 108% over the unaffected price. This move shows a clear strategy to grow its delivery business and strengthen its market position.
